Anantnag, 19 Jan (KNO) : After assurance from State administration Protest was called off outside DC Office Anantnag against establishing an Army Camp at Shamsipora Homshalibugh. Hundreds Led by AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed staged a strong protest outside DC Office Anantnag against establishing an Army Camp at Shamsipora Homshalibugh. People from various localities gathered and joined protest, besides Dozens of AIP volunteers including party Senior Leader Zeeshan Pandit. Talking to media persons on the sidelines of protest Er. Rasheed said that on one side Govt is claiming to minimize the role of Army in dealing with law and order issues but on the other side new camps are being established and that too without following proper procedures. Er. Rasheed said that though our battle is for resolution of Kashmir dispute but security agencies can not be allowed to have a jungle Raj and do what they want. Later district administration headed by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag held negotiations with the protestors. After talking to the higher authorities Deputy Commissioner communicated that the work on establishing camp will be stopped right away and no camp will be established in Shamsipora village to address the concerns of inhabitants. Following the assurance sit in was called off.(KNO)
